TIMES JATIM, MALANG – Vincilya Fildania, a student of UIN Malang, is active in a community that focuses on developing education and the quality of children. This community is called senyum anak nusantara.

Senyum anak nusantara or what can be abbreviated as SAN is a community of young realists who focus on social issues and children's education in remote areas of Indonesia. Senyum Anak Nusantara was officially established on Sunday, May 5, 2019.

SAN is a volunteer-based social community that aims to be a forum for young Indonesians who have a high social spirit to move, act, and collaborate in one vision and mission. SAN is divided into 78 chapters in each region, one of which is the Malang chapter, and I joined the Malang chapter, because I am currently studying in Malang.

What motivated you to join this SAN?

My motivation to join this SAN is because I really like to socialize, and also I have never joined this kind of community before. When I saw the registration of this community on social media, I was amazed to join. I also really like interacting with children, besides that I also want to increase my relationships.

What is your role in greeting this SAN community?

In this SAN I entered into the media and communication division, my role here is that I have to manage all social media owned by SAN Chapter Malang. In addition, when there are activities to carry out volunteer activities, I also go to the field to help condition children or play with them.

What activities have you done while joining SAN?

There are many activities that I did when I joined the SAN community. For example, inviting orphanage children to play and explore Milkindo, providing them with entertainment and learning materials.

In addition, I also participated in an activity called Sekolah Nusantara, where I provide learning in remote schools, one of which is in Poncokusumo, Malang district, there I not only provide general learning but also learning about managing waste, hand washing procedures, and others.

What were your challenges when participating in this community activity and how did you overcome these challenges?

The challenges I face when participating in activities in this community are about time management, because as a student, of course, I am still burdened with college assignments, sometimes it is very difficult for me to divide my time.

What I do to overcome this challenge is that I do time management by using a priority scale, where I must be able to determine my priorities, namely pursuing my college assignments first and working on them early. In addition, when I went to the field I was also often faced with naughty children, and I had to be able to control them.

How does the community collaborate with schools?

We collaborate with schools to provide teachers to the school, not only about formal materials but also general knowledge. In addition, we also provide entertainment to the students at the school.

What was your biggest achievement when you joined this community?

My biggest achievement was when I managed social media well. In addition, by managing this social media, I created a work in the form of content that is educational and informative. Where with my content I managed to educate and convey information to outsiders about SAN and also other things.

How do you measure your success in joining this community?

I measure my success when I have done activities as much as possible. Where this activity runs smoothly and according to the plan that has been set before.

What are your hopes for SAN in the future?

My hope for this SAN is that it can develop well. And also I hope that people who join this SAN have sincere intentions and contribute with iklas. Because when we do activities with sincerity and sincerity, we will strive for maximum.

What inspiring experiences have you encountered when joining SAN?

When collaborating with other communities, I found one of its members who has a disability, I really appreciate that person because when he has a disability he still has the intention to contribute to the community. Also, he has the spirit and never feels less with his shortcomings. From that person, I felt that I as a normal person should be able to do more than that.

With her determination to advance children, Vincilya Fildania will continue to educate them so that they can continue their education as high as possible and become successful people. (*)
